Ahoy There, Mates — It’s Time to Come Aboard

There are fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities on-going here at the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum.

Our Volunteers are a diverse group of individuals who use their unique talents to enhance the visitors’ experience while visiting our gallery.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: general research for administrative and curatorial projects, general correspondence, assistance with collections management and exhibit preparation, leading visitors of all ages on lively and interactive tours, and assisting with the set-up and execution of fundraisers and special events.

Shipmates Update

As the Museum continues to expand and grow in different ways, our staff will re-evaluate and improve our volunteer program. We are looking forward to this opportunity to further develop new and exciting volunteer avenues for all of our volunteers.

With that in mind, the monthly Shipmates meeting has been “put on hold” temporarily.  We will keep you posted with the new date once it gets closer.  We appreciate your patience during this transition.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Museum Docent Opportunity

Interested in talking with visitors, leading tours and sharing information about the Museum with the public?  Become a docent!  If you feel comfortable talking to the public, are energetic and are interested in learning more about the Museum and sharing your knowledge, this is the position for you!   Shifts are flexible and available 7 days/week.
