Mission StatementThe Newport Harbor Nautical Museum is a non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting the nautical heritage of Newport Harbor, southern California and the Pacific through stimulating interactive and multi-media exhibitions, and inspiring education programs focused on nautical arts, artifacts, events and customs. Treasured HistoryThanks to the committed and visionary leadership of the Board of Trustees, the Nautical Museum has proven itself as a major community asset by providing public programs, special events, insightful educational programming and engaging interactive exhibits to local residents, students and visitors of all ages.
We have achieved our mission to excite, inform and inspire through strategic collaborations, traveling exhibitions, permanent displays and careful maintenance of historical objects, photographs and art. The Nautical Museum is now prepared to embark on its next and most essential place in Newport Harbor history. Plans to mold this historic organization in to a top flight nautical museum are underway. Our skilled and knowledgeable executive leadership team will execute the Museum’s transition plans to build on its exceptional 20-year history. photo: Tall Ships docked near the Fun Zone, circa 1916 |
