Dredges to DreamboatsJune 9th - October 15th, 2006 (at the "Pride of Newport" location)"Living as You Like It" was the motto that the Newport Harbor Nautical Musuem adopted to relate the history of the City of Newport Beach. To celebrate the City's centenntial, the NHNM presented "Dredges to Dreamboats: 100 Years of Newport Nautical History." The exhibit highlighted the many ways in which water-oriented activities have shaped the Newport Harbor area. Specifically, the exhibit pointed out the significance of leisure, harbor development, and the fishing and movie industries. The local heroes and entrepreneurs who left their mark on Newport Harbor was also recognized. The exhibit was developed by guest curators Joanna Grasso, Julie Perlin, and Danielle Susalla, students in the Cal State Fullerton graduate program in Musuem Studies. |
